How to Get to Roatán

Everything you need to know to arrive smoothly
Flights to Roatán
Roatán has its own international airport, Roatán International Airport (RTB). You can fly directly from several major hubs, including Houston, Miami, Atlanta, Dallas, and Toronto, depending on the season.
‍
If you don’t find a direct flight, the most common route is flying to San Pedro Sula (SAP) and then taking a short domestic flight to Roatán.

Local airlines like CM Airlines and Aerolíneas Sosa operate frequent daily flights between San Pedro Sula and Roatán, with flight times of about 30 minutes.

Both options are routine and reliable, and most travelers reach Roatán without any complications.


Arrival and Entry Basics
Most travelers enter Honduras with a valid passport and receive a standard tourist entry on arrival, typically allowing stays of up to 90 days. For most visitors, the process is routine and quick, especially if you’ve traveled internationally before.

Visas are required in advance for citizens of some countries, including but not limited to: United Kingdom, China, India, Russia, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, most African countries, and some Middle Eastern and Asian countries.
